Critical Thinking

I recently read an article about Rupert Murdoch's son in both a New York Times and also the New York Post. Both articles touched on the upcoming Promotion for James Murdoch. The article that was posted by the New York times gave a great amount of detail about his new promotion and also background information. The article used lots of common vocabulary and also accompanied their article with a picture of James Murdoch. There was a lot of spacing and paragraphs in this article. Compared to the Times article the New York Post article was very short and didnt really get into too much information on the deal. Everything was kept short and simple as in just giving the basic who, what, when, where, and why.

They say the four years you spend in college will change your life. Who is "THEY" you might ask yourself as you read this, THEY are your parents, your neighbors, your boss, your friend, older people who you meet who ask you what your plan is after high school. These are the people who will tell you what it is before you get to live it. Me as a college student can say first hand that college has truly made me who i am today. Not only in the educational aspect but also as far as maturity i don't think i would have came all this way without college. I made friends here, i laughed here, i cried here, and i had many of crazy experiences here. College has been an outlet for all of my ideas and an outlet for me to express who i am. College gave me a chance to start over and make myself a new person in the eye's of new people, and these people would be the ones i grew with the people who looked out for me when i needed it the most. When i leave college i will have left here taking with me all four years of learning life on my own and knowing what its going to take to survive. This is just a starting point its now time for me to create my own life beyond these classrooms.

The things that matter today wont matter tomorrow. If this statement applies to you as an individual then then maybe you live in the future. what is the future? "The future is the indefinite time period after the present". Being that we cant predict, tell, or experience the future then why is it so important? I ask myself this question everyday as i wake up in the college dorm which i took out a loan for which in the FUTURE ill have to pay back. Although i make some brash comments about the meaning behind future i value my future and the steps that im taking to ensure my happiness in the future. I will admit now looking at my past i made a lot of bad decisions which ultimately put me in the place i am today. I spent way too much money on credit cards, i have outstanding debts not including my current school, i have been too inebriated at times to finish homework which ultimately lead to my grades dropping, i have been through it all. The point i want to make is yes its good to live for today and plan for tomorrow but try not to let your past or present hinder your future

The word LIFE for me is just an acronym .......LIVE, IF, FOREVER, EXIST. I say this only because a lot of people i come in contact with worry about tomorrow so much that today doesn't exist. I personally wish people would take advantage of life and its rarity. Lives are lost everyday, there are millions of abortions, and too many people die young. "Life is what you make it" is what i have always been told to believe. My personal definition of the word life is not to be mistaken as live life and don't worry about consequences. Life comes around once, lately i have felt like i am not taking advantage of life. The more that i worry about future problems the more i forget how special life is and how much I, my friends, my family, everyone i know will miss life when its gone. The moral or thought that i would like to provoke is why is anyone's life better or worse then someone else's? Why are you here? What is your purpose? Everyone should have a purpose in life or at least one that they believe in. Without a purpose what do we live for? If i had to take a stab at what my purpose is i would say its to bring light to people's dark situations. That idea may seem a little far-fetched but i believe it 100%. I believe that god (me mentioning GOD is not meant to bring up a war about religion its just my belief) places me wherever i can meet people that need a ray of light in their dark times. Until life is over for me I am gonna live it as if forever exist.
